Just amended the date – haven’t got a clue what day of the week or the date! 🤣🤣🤣
Another few days have trundled by and, to be honest, we’ve not really been up to much! It’s still very hot here and we have another 13 days before we return to the UK…
I think we both have the feeling that 6-weeks here would have done us and that we could have happily have headed home this past weekend. That’s s not to say that I am not grateful for still being here – I am still enjoying the warm weather and being able to spend a few hours most days walking along the beach, having a leisurely late lunch and reading in the sun or shade; but there are things from home we are both missing – for me, that includes a nice bath & long soak, seeing Mum and a full roast dinner! For Pete, I think it’s probably proper gravy and fresh steamed veg (of course, you can get veg here but we don’t really have the means to cook it in our apartment. Perhaps if we were at the start of our break we might have looked to buy a steamer… will try and remember that next time!) and, although the Goans / Indians undoubtedly do great veggie food (we’ve never had any issues with what people often call “Delhi-belly”… in fact, in the twenty-odd years Pete & I have been coming here, I have only ever been ill maybe twice & one of those was my own fault as, waking dehydrated after a night on the sauce & finding we had no bottled water, I resorted to tap water – a risk I no longer run in my sobriety!), it’s usually in a rich sauce which we are sure includes more ghee that is probably good for anyone, especially Pete with his new heart pipes! 🫀
This morning, when we woke, Pete wasn’t really feeling it so we’ve decided to have an easy day at the apartment today… we will probably go for a scooter ride later to pick up some supplies – tea, coffee and water – and maybe a walk later when the weather cools off a bit (it’s currently 32 degrees but feels hotter!)…
Here’s some photos from the last few days:

Yesterday, it was nice to have a quick video call with our friend Jane (and Dave, who I am sure was in the background) as we coordinated our taxis to and from Mopa airport… we are leaving on the morning that they arrive in Goa for 5-weeks so Percy (the chap who collected us from the airport when we arrived) is going to drop us off and collect them – which means we can split the cost of the journey, making it about £20 cheaper than when we got here – bonus!
So that’s all the news from Goa – Namaste 🙏!
