The day has come for us to set out on our journey to Spain via France… the car is packed and we set off later this morning for Dover & our first overnight stop before boarding the ferry tomorrow morning!

Had a last “tea & cake” visit with Mum yesterday – she was on good form even though completely bananas (🤣🤣) – at least she still knows who I am even if she reverts to the safety of calling me “Nan” like everyone else when she gets tired!

Choosing to stay away from the house to give Pete time to pack the car without me telling him he wasn’t doing it right(! 😊) I also managed a little walk down the canal as it was a surprisingly warm, sunny afternoon – very nice…

So now it is just a question of getting out of bed, breakfast & getting in the car & on the road… am I feeling a bit daunted? Maybe… was just considering that Pete & I rarely fall out but when we do, it’s usually in the car over comments about each others driving (well, I am not a great passenger that’s for sure & when I drive, Pete picks up on my anxiety when driving unfamiliar routes…) – maybe a road trip wasn’t the greatest idea? 🤣🤣🤣 Wish us luck 😊

Louise – sorry we never got to speak before we set off… catch up with you & kids at the weekend hopefully!
