Woo-hoo! Semi-retirement here I come…

So, I did it! Today marked my last day (well, half day) at Affinity Trust and, as planned when I returned to work after my 12-month sabbatical in November 2020, I am now about to take the plunge into the “rest of my life” and semi-retirement! Yippee 😍

I have absolutely loved the 15 years spent working for Affinity Trust (well, nearly all of it anyway… 🤣) – thank you to all my colleagues for the lovely comments you have sent, the fantastic (and unexpected) gifts (particularly as this is the 2nd time I’ve left in the 5 years! 😂) and the beautiful flowers – what a great “bunch” of people you all are 😊 and what a fantastic organisation to work for! I especially want to thank my Operations Managers & Admin (you know who you are!) – you are special & I’ll miss each of you but wish you all well in future! Naturally, I hope our paths will cross somewhere, somehow, sometime… 🤞

So now that work is done, hubby and I can start thinking about packing our bags and heading on our road trip to Spain, via France… we leave on 4th September and it feels like we have a lot to do before we go! That said, the car has been serviced, new tyres purchased and the breakdown cover extended to Europe, so we are getting there already!

We have also sorted out a vague route… not as vague as “head South and keep going” but the first few stages at least… starting of course with Stage 1: Yorkshire to Dover (a good warm up), then a quick hop over the water to Dunkirk and then Stage 2: Dunkirk to Le Mans…

Oooo, I cannot wait to get on the road now! 5 days and counting… Exciting!
